A high-level overview for the event is below.
The theme of the gathering is, Riding the Wave of Hope – Ending Childhood Hunger in Montana. The event will be problems and solutions focused, fast-moving, and applicable to a broad audience. We acknowledge that everyone has a role in building a more equitable and nourishing food system that will feed Montana’s economy.
The highlight of the gathering will be showcasing the strong cross-section of research and innovative solutions to feeding communities. Eleven Montana-based organizations will share their work through a PechaKucha-style presentation model. The presentations will be divided into three categories separated by brief Q&A sessions.
MT-PECH aims to bring together state program and policy leaders and the many partner organizations involved in our 8-Step Plan to End Childhood Hunger. The goal is to share successful interventions, identify existing food security gaps post-pandemic, and facilitate better coordination and collaboration with usual partners and new allies in the fight against childhood hunger. Join us to rekindle your inspiration, find fresh momentum for existing projects, and meet new partners with shared goals.
For those of you who are interested in networking and smaller group discussions on specific topics, we plan to take a 15 minute break at 12:00PM to move around and grab your lunch, then have 45 minutes of facilitated discussion time in breakout groups while this information is fresh in our minds. Although this is a long time to spend in a virtual setting, we are confident that the meeting format and inspiring presentations will make the time fly by.
